This October I took on the Space Artober Challenge. Working off the Spacetober Challenge prompt list, I decided to combine this with Logotober which is a logo a day for each day in October. This was a great creative exercise. Each logo was developed in Adobe Illustrator, both using the desktop version and the iPad.

MayWeCreate Challenge-Pictograms

This May I challenged myself to create a nature-inspired pictogram each day. Using only Adobe Illustrator to create organic shapes that convey a message or concept. I didn’t quite get 31 designs done, but I do feel I’ve increased my proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and can more efficiently put concepts together.

Artstation, NASA, Adobe, Challenge – From the Moon to Mars

ArtStation partnered with NASA and Adobe in a challenge that celebrates the legacy of NASA’s Apollo missions and looks to the future of space exploration. The entries were required to use Adobe Dimensions to render some elements and at least one 3-d asset provided for the challenge. This is my completed entry, an illustration of how future crewed space missions would mirror or reflect the the past Apollo missions. To better transition from the past to the future I added the International Space Station and the shuttle. Zunum Aero is a Washington-based Startup with an interesting business model that goes beyond creating new airplanes. I have been working with them for sometime now, but only recently have they gone public. Their name derives from the Mayan word for hummingbird. I created the logo and have been helping them with product illustrations. This is one of my favorite logos that I’ve designed. I think we will hear some great things from this company. 2016 Hermes Creative Award and BMA Gold Key Award

I am honored to receive two awards for my work on the call for entry campaign and video created last year. The campaign was developed for the Business Marketing Association of Colorado’s Gold Key Awards in 2015. This results-based awards was also a great opportunity to be recognized for the creative work that was done last year. The entries for the BMA Gold Key awards last year increased by 29%, attendance to the awards gala was record setting, up 21% over the previous year. It is unclear if this is a direct result of this campaign, however we did meet our objectives. The videos remain as some of the most viewed videos on the BMA YouTube channel.

The second award come from the Hermes Creative Awards one of the largest international design competitions.
